Laguna Yal-Kú

A sheltered coastal lagoon at the north end of Akumal where freshwater from underground cenotes meets the Caribbean, creating calm, shallow brackish water rich in colourful fish.

Its easy entry, gentle conditions and bordering sculpture garden, hammocks and small beaches make it a relaxed, family-friendly snorkelling spot rather than a swimming beach; biodegradable sunscreen only is allowed to protect the ecosystem.
