A quiet half-moon bay just north of Akumal's main beach, Media Luna (“half moon”) is a calm, shallow, reef-sheltered cove backed by villas and a few small hotels.
Its seagrass beds attract turtles and rays, making it a well-known snorkelling spot with a secluded, residential feel.
