A central Hotel Zone beach at Km 10, next to the shopping malls and nightclubs, Playa Chac-Mool has fine white sand and clear turquoise water.
Its open-sea exposure gives it stronger surf than the sheltered northern beaches, with waves and undertow that can be significant, so swimmers should watch the flags.
It has lifeguards and restrooms but limited parking.
