A secluded beach and fishing-camp area just north of Playa del Carmen near the Mayakoba resorts, Xcalacoco is a low-key stretch reached by a rough access road, with a cenote nearby and a reef close offshore.

Its undeveloped, local character and snorkelling draw visitors seeking a quieter spot away from the main strip.
