The liveliest stretch of Playa del Carmen's main beach, a few blocks off Fifth Avenue near Calle 28, Playa Mamitas is defined by its beach clubs, Mamita's and neighbouring Kool, and a young, social crowd.
Its wide white sand and beach-club DJ sets give it a daytime party atmosphere, and it was long the heart of Playa del Carmen's electronic-music scene, including the former BPM Festival.
